I am handling my 84-year-old mother’s medical aid matters on her behalf due to her being hearing-impaired and unable to manage these issues herself.

I wish to formally raise my dissatisfaction with the ongoing incompetence and lack of attention to detail from Ampath personnel. It is completely unacceptable that I must repeatedly contact Discovery Medical Aid due to incorrect invoices submitted by your office.

Once again, I had to spend nearly an hour on the phone with Discovery to resolve invoices that remain unpaid because of errors on your side. If your staff were properly trained and ensured that the correct ICD-10 codes were used, this would not be necessary.

For the unpaid invoice dated 2 December 2024, you submitted ICD-10 code C21 on the invoice while the payment items reflect Z01.7. This is incorrect and should not appear on your documentation for this patient. ICD-10 code C20, relating to oncology, should be consistently used on all your documents for her profile.

The same issue appears on the service dates of 4 April 2025 and 23 September 2025.

I expect Ampath to rectify these errors immediately. Do not contact me or my mother regarding outstanding amounts caused by your internal mistakes. Any communication regarding unpaid invoices will not be entertained unless your documentation is corrected and compliant.

It is certainly not my responsibility to correct your administrative errors. My time is required to manage my own work, not to repeatedly fix issues caused by your staff.
