Horrible service experience at Ampath Kuils River

The sister asked for butterflies to draw blood from my 4 year old son, but seemed hasty, so continued after a while with a normal needle. She noted a large vein on his right arm, and wanted to start, not having him lie down or holding his arm or explaining the procedure. When she injected the needle, my son pulled away, because it hurt. His arm bled badly.I took hold of his elbow as her next attempt also failed. My son started crying hysterically, which he never does when his blood is drawn. The sister pulled out the needle and pressed it in his arm again for a THIRD attempt, pushing the needle with strength into his arm now to get blood. It was horrible.We left immediately. She seemed uncertain and confused.Louis Redelinghuys, Area Manager of Ampath, rep**** later via e-mail, stating the sister did nothing wrong and followed Ampath's standard practice. How can it be standard practice not to console a 4 year old child? Or to inject a needle 3 times into a toddler's arm, or not hold his arm whilst drawing blood? Other medical practitioners (Pathcare incl) confirmed that this is not standard. I have heard nothing again from Louis Redelinghuys, and no apology was offered by the sister
