Covid chaos

Went for a Covid test this morning, my doc referred me to the tent in the parking lot at Sunninghill Clinic.

What an utter shambles! First they wanted to turn me away because it was raining and the one nurse was adamant that all the Ampath staff there were going to get sick from the rain. Last time I checked, the rain does not make you sick. Luckily the nurse obliged and told me I could have the test done.

There was no formal queuing system and people were just standing wherever they wanted. There was zero social distancing. It was utter chaos.

While I was waiting, numerous people were turned away with no alternative given on where they could be tested.

If the rain was affecting the testing of people, then the security guard at the boom entrance should have been notified. When I arrived and told the guard I was there for a Covid test, he happily directed me to the tent.

All in all a dismal experience. Something urgently needs to be done to sort out the testing facility.
