Billing for Services Not Requested

During April I took my daughter for blood tests at the Ampath Laboratory at Fourways Life Hospital. Bloods were taken, but one of the test bloods omitted. I was requested to go back the following day and during the drawing of the blood the nurse in the admin section shouted to the nurse taking the bloods that she should also draw bloods for a sugar test. When the results were presented to the doctor she toldus she had not requested the blood sugar test and that I should ask for a refund. Upon examining the form completed by the doctor it is clear that the tick in the blood sugar block differs from the ticks made by the person (Doctor) originally completing the form. Ampath are adamant their staff are not allowed to add services to these forms and that the doctor must have requested it \but forgot she had asked for it". Ampath are adamant that I have to pay for this service even though it was not requested"
