Ampath Refund Avoidance Tactics

In November 2023, my wife went for blood tests at Ampath Labs. She paid for the tests by card at the time. 3 days later, my Health Pay linked account was deducted for the same transaction.

Since then, it has been a back and forth of paperwork, push back from my side and ultimately what amounts to avoidance tactics to pay me back what is effectively not their money.

Today, 2 months later and many, many angry minutes later, I was informed that my refund could not be processed due to an outstanding account. The refund owed to me is R1.7k. The amount owed to Ampath for blood tests taken last week are R154.80. I am at a loss for how to proceed- I must pay them more money, to hopefully get paid my outstanding amount. Hopefully, one day. Not holding my breath though.

Not once has anyone lifted their phone to try and assist- I just get mainly automated mails and excuses. So tiring- I would hate to know how many people they have done the same thing with.

Will avoid Ampath at all costs moving forward, and will advise the same to whoever will listen.
