AMPATH DISREGARDS Patient Safety and Confidentiality.

I am extremely disappointed with AMPATH.

Firstly, the nurse handling my blood draw had been working with urine samples immediately before attending to me. I specifically requested that she wash her hands and wear gloves before touching me. She refused to do so. As a patient, I believe it is entirely reasonable to expect basic hygiene and infection-control procedures to be followed, particularly in a medical environment.

Even more concerning, my confidential medical information was subsequently sent to another individual. The protection of patient information is a fundamental obligation of any healthcare provider, and such a breach of confidentiality is completely unacceptable.

This experience has left me deeply concerned about both patient safety and the handling of sensitive personal information. I have formally raised these concerns with Ampath and am still awaiting a response.

I sincerely hope these issues are investigated thoroughly and that appropriate corrective action is taken to ensure that other patients do not have a similar experience.
