Ampath covid testing

Their feedback on covid testing results is way below par. Considering that crucial travel arrangements, planning, decidions etc are currently made around receiving these results timeously, they are just not efficient enough with forwarding these to their clients. The collection service is efficient and professional, but the whole operation thereafter seems not to work very well. I Use the same collection point in Montana, PTA for my testing, but very seldom get the results back on my phone. I normally have to take off 2 hrs to drive to the lab to fetch my results, instead of them being received on my phone. Recently, I had to go into the lab as usual to fetch the results, and thereafter left for Botswana. I was well on the way into my trip, when I happened to notice that they had printed out the wrong set of results. If I had not noticed this, I would have driven all the way to the Botswana border, only to have been turned away. Considering that in Botswana, a little neighbouring country, I can get tested in the morning, and return after lunch to get the results, correctly printed out, the performance by Ampath, a big supposedly professional SA lab, is just not up to scratch. After all, R850.00 to get a stick shoved up your nose, is a lot to pay for poor service!
