Ampath Account are the Worst.
Ampath has the worst accounts department. Not only do you not get a copy of your account if you go to them, they will only contact you for payment when they are ready to hand you over at least 180 days later. When they do contact you, and you ask for details of the account, e.g. patient, date of treatment, etc, they promise to email you the account and do not. When you do eventually get the account, after months of fighting, you pay it, for them to continue to phone. when you tell them it has been paid, then they claim it is for another treatment or date from what you paid. They refuse to give you a statement, so you never know where you stand with them. When they phoned today, the lady was told we are up to date with what is owed according to what was claimed via medical aid, and our portion has been paid. (Both my wife and I are accountants and know how to reconcile.) She then said she would email the statement again, but she needed out physical address. (This was given when we filled in the forms at the lab.) because she was not allowed to send the statement via email if she did not have our physical address. My wife then told her our policy is no payment without invoice (the practice of any company.) My wife and I will never use Ampath again because of their accounts department. None of their competitors have these problems and Lancet will now be our pathologists of choice. We have told all our medical practitioners this as well.
