Amapath milking us........
Two years back, I went to Dr. Mansoor and she referred me to Ampath to do some tests in Mahikeng. In one of the tests, she said I must first confirm with Ampath if my medical insurance will cover that. When I arrived, I told the guy who was the receptionist that if there is money to pay for any of the tests he must inform me. He then said other tests medical insurance is covering except for one which is about R800. I told him that must not be done as the doctor said it's optional for me. The guy told me that I must not worry because they have a way to get the money from my medical insurance. After about a month, they called me and told me that the medical insurance is refusing to pay and I must now pay. I told them that I can't pay that because initially, I was not willing to pay. Now I'm getting threatening emails and messages for something I did not agree to. Ampath has the tendency to tell clients that they will get money from medical insurance or medical aids and they know the law that you check first if they will be able to pay. But this time around, they knew that the insurance won't pay and wanted me to pay. If this is a way Ampath is milking people, then it is simply *******ion. People must just pay for services that they did not agree to. If this is how you are doing your business, you need to change this system
