What Lifetime Guarantee are you referring too?
I am the owner of 19 AMC pots and when my 16 High pot boiled dry and melted the base and almost caused me third degree burns (if I wasn't quick enough), I took it to the Port Elizabeth branch to have it fixed or replaced. I was informed that it cannot be repaired and that it would cost me half the price of a new one, over R 1000. Firstly, for a product of this price, the base should NEVER have melted (I have never heard of any other manufacturer's product doing this).<br> Secondly, what type of Lifetime Guarantee does your company offer your customers. The mere fact that I have 19 AMC pots, says that I have been a very loyal customer of AMC cookware and to get this treatment, WELL !!!!<br> I would really appreciate it if you could reply ASAP, thank you Maggi Oliver

The lifetime guarantee covers the product against defective material and workmanship. It is a feature we are extremely proud of and have honoured over the past 47 years.
Our guarantee leaflets state that high heat should never be used and that the unit should not be left unattended for a period of time. Because of the unique design, the base of each unit conducts heat rapidly and too high a temperature will cause damage to the base and it may start to melt. Aluminium melts at 660 degree C - in this instance your unit was left too long on the heated stove-plate and the excessive overheating caused the Aluminium alloy base to melt.
The kind of damage to your 16cm unit is accidental and is not covered by the lifetime guarantee. The melted base cannot be repaired and in a case like this, we offer to replace the damaged item at a special discount of 50% off the current selling price.
