High expectations, zero after sale service from Amc

I bought an amc steam pot years ago. After about a year, the handle came lose and a part fell out from the handle. I ignored same and carried on using the pot. I dont use it often , id say once every 4 to 5 months. I grew up being told it has lifelong guarantee. I probably own this now about 6 years, and decided that i would fix the handle. I contacted the rep in our area. Since there were more parts from the inside of the handle that had fallen out. She asked me for a short video, And she unceremoniously just gave me the address of the nearest shop, and told me to take it there, for repairs. And with absolutely no effort on her side to assist me in getting it to the nearest outlet which was in Johannesburg, and im based in springs. She said as a rep she wasn't allowed to deal with repairs or help. This shocked me, as this displayed unprofessionalism from a company as big as Amc. A new pot would cost me r8000 and to imagine the entire sales pitch of "lifelong " guarantee does not exist. I most definitely will not buy from them again. Id rather buy an ordinary cheap steam pot, and not have expectations at all.
