Used item received with missing pieces

I purchased a peppa *** alphabet case from Amazon It’s came with a letter missing and it has a piece of Christmas gift wrap stuck on the box which make me believe it has been used When I contacted customer service they said there’s nothing they can do I would have to return it and they could give me a refund however that would take weeks and I would have to reorder it and pay shipping fees again I paid over R1100.00 for this item for my sons Christmas gift My autistic son is heartbroken
