Why wasting customer time and effort?

Completed, paid, confirmed shipped order *** cancelled days after by Amazon South Africa because it "that the item you ordered was found to be oversized ". Why selling a product with delivery option if it cannot be shipped. The when realising it cannot be shipped just cancelling order with no alternative given.
