I purchased a Cadac Born Free Portable Gas stove in September 2025. I purchased a pack of gas cannisters in November 2025 to use with the stove. In January 2026, I used the stove for the first time. It worked fine and I finished the first cannister. I used it a few more times and it was ok. I used it again later in the month and put a new cannister and while boiling water on it in my small pot, the whole portable gas stove exploded in my face and the metal of the stove hit me in my stomach leg and mouth. I luckily blocked my face and it only managed to him me in the mouth. It hit my front tooth and the 2 teeth next to it. My front tooth loosened and the tooth teeth next to it broke. I had to go get the front tooth extracted and I had to put a bridge in my mouth temporarily which costed me R13000. I went to the specialist for a treatment plan to do an implant and repair my 2 teeth on the side. I got a quote of almost 90k. This has been a traumatic month for me.
