Fasle Information. Beware!

Purchased a television online on the clear representation that it was in stock and available for prompt delivery. Four days later, I was informed that delivery would only occur at the end of May or June—effectively a 6 to 12 week delay. This is entirely inconsistent with the initial position that stock was available and merely required transfer from Johannesburg to Durban.

Subsequently, I was told there was in fact no stock, yet my card had already been debited in full. Charging a customer without confirmed availability is, at best, improper and, at worst, misleading.

After cancelling the order via the app, I was then advised that a refund would take up to five days to process—despite the funds being taken immediately. Within minutes of cancelling, the same television was reflected as “available” again on the platform. This raises serious concerns about the accuracy of stock representations and the integrity of the sales process.

Consumers should exercise caution. These transactions appear to involve third-party suppliers, resulting in extended delays, lack of accountability, and funds being held without compensation for interest or bank charges. Queries are met with shifting explanations rather than clear, verifiable answers.

It is also highly concerning that next-day delivery is advertised, yet only after purchase does the communication change to “delivery date to be confirmed.” This discrepancy between marketing and actual fulfilment practices is misleading and warrants scrutiny.
