DON’T PURCHASE FROM AMAZON! 30+ days ans no refund

I purchased an Apple IPhone on the 24 Aug and it arrived on the 25th. It seemed to be defective or counterfeit so I immediately started the refund process. It was collected and returned by courier guy by the 27th August. Since then, Amazon has not sent me any correspondence or made any update. The refund pages reads that the return will be processed when the item is received. I called twice and spoke to different consultants who gave me different information but the last agent said that I should wait 30 days for a refund of this large nature. I waited for the 30 days and still heard nothing. I’m trying to request a call now from customer care. The call back says that they’re closed now but open from 6am to 12pm! It’s 8:50am!! They’re supposed to be open. There’s no other method to contact them that o can find. Now I don’t have a phone and I’ve not been refunded R27599!!! This is appalling from a big company.
