Deduction of money for undamaged goods

I purchased Bang & Olufsen Beosound Explore Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker on 10 May. I kept all packaging undamaged. I however could not get the speaker to connect on the app and some of the other devices, hence my decision to return it. During the refund process, I was informed that R699 would not be returned as the packaging is damaged and shipping costs were incurred. I fortunately took pictures of the item on the day of shipping and nothing was damaged. Also, Amazon showed R0.00 for return shipping costs.
