Amazon Kindle

I get a daily e-mail from Amazon Kindle, and on Friday 2nd April decided that one of the e-books on special for that day, I would purchase, which I did. The price on special was $1.99, but when I got my confirmation of purchase the amount debited was $12.09. To cut a long story short, I was made to feel that I was in the wrong, and had to "prove" to a company representative that this was the actual price that was advertised. Surely the company should be aware of the pricing of their products? Then to cap it all, I get told that the special only applies if you have a USA address. False advertising and theft.
