False Claims

I bought an Alva Raptor stainless Steel Gas Braai from Makro in Montague Gardens on 19 November 2011. I followed the instructions on assembling the gas braai meticulously, inclusive of the treatment with Baby Oil as recommended. Since then, I used the braai only a few times, and have not used it for the last 2 years. The gas braai is fully covered and stored underneath my lapa. I wanted to use it again recently, only to found out to my dismay that the unit is rusting excessively. Surely this should not be the case as this is supposed to be a stainless steel unit. <br> <br> I contacted the customer care line and on their request submitted photographs, with the rust clearly visible. After a week I had to follow-up with their customer care line, only to be told on a further call by their management that the unit is made of a certain type of stainless steel that can still rust. Hence they were not prepared to do anything about my predicament, other than to offer me a discounted price on a new one. Why on earth would I buy a new one that will also rust again? <br> <br> I believe selling a unit as stainless steel is false advertising as it creates the assumption to a consumer that it will not rust.
