IUM Pothole Insurance -
We recently hit sharp objects on a road in our vehicle, we do however have tyre insurance and believed that it won’t be a problem since we know most other insurers paid out people that we know for this same claim on their insurance. Got feedback from our broker saying that they will only cover damage done by a pothole and no other object. I’m really disgusted by them trying to say that their wording indicates it to only being for potholes. If we drove through foreign objects on purpose that would be another story, don’t really know why it is accidental insurance if they don’t want to cover it regardless.

03 Jun 2022, 11:01Disgusted is the word that describes my feelings the best, after hitting spikes that were believed to be maliciously placed you declined our claim.
So long that everybody knows if you hit spikes in a road and it was a possible ******* or hijacking IUM will not cover damage to your vehicle or tyres since the policy wording states damage is only covered by potholes and not by any malicious activities.
Will definitely be moving my personal insurance and let everyone know who also makes use of your product to what great lengths you go to ensure that you don’t have to pay out claims, we at least know that this wasn’t a isolated incident and there are various other customers of yours who struggled precisely like we did in the claims process.

As per our email correspondence dated 1st June 2022, it was noted that based on the policy wording under both sections of your policy unfortunately the policy does not respond for damage to tyres caused by road cuts, bursts or punctures.
We trust you find the above in order.
Kind Regards,
