Customer service is delayed. The use of brokers is a drawback
I wanted to add a 2nd car since Tuesday 9th May and until today no real help. It is a weekend and we cant drive an un-insured car, but no one cares and no response to emails. Their use of brokers is a disadvantage, I already changed brokers but now the new broker has only one agent. One goes up and down when there is an issue. we rely on a broker and nothing else, no App, no contact with the insurer.
Also I was moved from 0 to R1500 excess for all risk, in less than 3 months, just because we claimed for cellphones! IUM is cheaper but I guess that translates to cheap service.
So I have moved the 2nd car, contents and all cellphones to Autogen, my previous home, which is seamless and it is easy to access anyone via the App or by phone.
I left the 1st car with IUM because they really gave me a good rate as a senior citizen but I don't have peace of mind because what will happen should I need to claim for an accident one day?! The reviews on here are mostly bad.
I must add though that my claim for windscreen was handled quick and with no fuss; a claim for potholes was also handled well. So I hope some hope....
Autogen has spoken to me and gave me a competitive premium and peace of mind. I have the App at tip of my finger.
Bad reviews on here for IUM make one more scared. IUM seemed cheap but service is poor.
