No Buyer protection

I was ****med by someone on Alibaba. Reported the matter to Alibaba and they asked me to pay more money for them to hire a company to inspect the supplier when the goods I have bought are in South Africa. When I refused to pay they told me they will close my dispute and that there is nothing they can do to help. Imagine this, the products I bought are in South Africa and the inspection company is in China? does that even make sense? to me they are all about making a buck and don't care about their customers. My advice is to avoid it if you can because they give you the illusion of buyer protection when in actual fact you are not protected.
