Sold our property and obviously had to pay clearance figures. Property registered a week ago on new owners name. I emailed AMR and asked that they please take final water and electricity reading and to please attend to refund of overpayment. I was basically told that I have x2 options: 1. I must take the readings - bear in mind that I do not have access to complex anymore 2. I must wait till they take reading month end.

I feel that we pay a fortune for the clearance certificate. This certificate clearly states that all overpayments will be made as per readings on registration date. They did not take a reading.

I was told by Jamie that this was standard practice and that I should know how these things work!
