Rotten bread

I bought bread at the local shop with an outside date 10/01/2020. Today it's the 9th and after I opened the bread it was rotten. Their pay off line is fresher for longer but here am I throwing a whole loaf before the expiry date. This is misleading and now I have wasted money and will never be compensated for that.
