I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Steeldale Mall management regarding unfair treatment and potential ************** in the allocation of a business contract. Despite my efforts to resolve the matter amicably, I believe I have been treated unjustly and seek assistance from your office.

*Background*

In early 2025, I approached Steeldale Mall to explore opportunities for a business contract to sell perfumes and hair products. I was advised by the management team, that hair products could not be sold at the centre, but perfumes could be considered. I agreed to proceed with contract for perfume sales, with the understanding that It would be a long term contract. I would make payments and provide proof, would send a shorter contract for me to sign.

*Dispute*

However, when I revisited the mall this month, I was informed that my contract would be terminated, and the perfume business would be allocated to another tenant, a white lady. When I inquired about the reason, I was told that the landlord has the right to choose who they want as tenants. And Maria tell me that when I requested a shop they didn’t have shops but when I was there they did some renovations and built some new shops….still didn’t allocate any to me even when their Centre manager had promised that one of the shops will be allocated to me. I believe this decision is unfair and potentially discriminatory, as I had introduced the perfume business to the centre and had been operating in good faith.
