BE ON YOUR GUARD WHEN DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY AND/OR REPRESENTATIVE
BE ON YOUR GUARD WHEN DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY AND/OR REPRESENTATIVE for the reasons listed below: First things first: The product this company offers means a lot to the elderly or to persons who must potentially rely on external medical or other assistance that could prove to be lifesaving. The product seems to be working well. I have only recently subscribed to the service for reasons of moderate disability and are not yet able to vouch on its effectiveness. Here are my serious concerns on the modus operandi of Aidcall 24/7: 1. When asking for pricing on a specific item of interest (either Aidcall 24/7 Indoor [expensive] - or Aidcall 24/7 Outdoor [inexpensive] system), whether by visiting the office directly, or enquiring via other means, you will not receive the requested information but an invitation or a link (“Request a brochure; Request a call-back”) and an offer for a live free demonstration of the product at your home - ostensibly to establish network connectivity (needless to say that wireless/cell phone coverage can be found in most metropolitan locations in S.A.). 2. The sales representative then installs Aidcall 24/7 Indoor system at your home, formats the hardware, tests the signal, and always leaves you under the impression that you may cancel at any time (which is only true for the monthly subscription service, - but not for the cancellation of the entire most expensive hardware (about R12 500.00 excluding the monthly service fee) which some interested parties will realize as an overkill as the Aidcall 24/7 Outdoor system will cover the immediate needs of some potential users adequately. 3. You will not have the privilege of a consultative open sales process where your real needs regarding a comprehensive service (Indoor and Outdoor 24/7) versus a “part”-service (either Indoor or Outdoor 24/7) are analysed and advice is accordingly given by the representative. 4. The target market consists of largely elderly persons or persons with disabilities (a captured market) with a real need for such a service, however it is biased to the most expensive item, which is punted heavily and sold under contract. 5. This approach invariably paves the way to conflict and unhappiness for a good number of customers (as is evident in the numerous comments and complaints/criticism which can be accessed on www.hellopeter.com) and few (if any) clarifications/explanations from the company. 6. Therefore be cautious and aware of the sales method employed by the representative of the company. Closing the sale for some representatives seem to be more important than establishing the need of the customer.
