Absolutely dissapointed with the service!

On Friday 04.0.2019 a friend and I visited the Africology Spa at the Maslow hotel in Sandton.

I am absolutely appalled by the service received!! Not only was my nail technition roughly 30 minutes late for my appointment- I did not get an apology either! (The appointment made was for a soak off and gel application)

As the lady is removing the gel that I had on, she firstly had a terrible attitude, and secondly was causing me a huge deal of pain whilst buffing the gel off. She was rough and I repeatedly told her that it is painful. Never once did I hear a “sorry” nor did she proceed to be any gentler. My cuticle bed was bleeding and it got to a point where I had to tell her to STOP completely. Again- no signs of an apology or change in attitude.

My nails were “buffed” right down to my nail bed to a point that there are signs of internal bleeding. Not only are my nails completely damaged... I’m at STILL in excruciating pain- I am no expert... but I’m PRETTY SURE this is not how it should work. I have app**** and soaked off gel numerous times- however this was the first time at this particular place.

My nails are now sensitive, sore, red, inflamed and my fingers are swollen. All 10 finger nails are damaged, however the comparison to the “buffed” nails (before I told her to stop) and the rest of the nails is evident!

Went back the next day to speak to the manager who promised to get back by COB on Monday 07.01.2019. It is now Tuesday evening and I am yet to hear anything...

Again I am appalled by the service received!
