Unresolved Billing - Water Leakage Charge
Hello Peter,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my frustration and seek immediate assistance regarding an ongoing billing issue with my account at afhco Africa Housing Company.
To summarize the situation:
1. Month of August , I was unexpectedly charged R959.46 for water usage, which I was informed that maybe is due to a leakage in my room. 2. I was unaware of this leakage because last time when I moved in they did the inspection and was conducted well and only became aware when I received the overcharged bill. 3. Upon inspection by the building manager, it was confirmed that there was indeed a leakage, but I didn't report it and it is my fault. 4. The matter was escalated to the utility department at the head office, I was told I had to pay 50% of the leakage charges because I did not report the issue. 6. Despite my objections, I have continuously followed up on this issue, and I had to escalate this matter to Portfolio manager still made it clear that all this is my fault. I kept on receiving the sms that says I'm owing. On the 15th August When I came back from work my electricity was cut off because I didn't pay I had to call again. They told me that my case Is resolved but still I have to pay R300 for reversal. I paid that amount because I was desperate and wanted my electricity back. They confirmed with email that I no longer owe for the water leakage. However, on Friday I received another sms that said my account is on arrears I must settle the amount of R553.42.I sent them email asking for that amount but no response. The latest statement of September I received this morning contradicts this, showing the outstanding balance of R553.42 and other amounts that I don't understand is for what.
This lack of communication and conflicting information is causing me significant stress and confusion. I have been diligent in following up but have not received a satisfactory resolution. I am requesting:
- A clear explanation of my account status, particularly concerning the water leakage charges and other charges. - An updated statement reflecting any agreed-upon adjustments. - Confirmation that the matter is fully resolved, as previously indicated.
Please address this matter urgently, as it has been pending for too long, and I would appreciate a swift resolution.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
Simphiwe Dladla 120 End street unit 416 Doornfontein Johannesburg 2000 ***
