Title: Unfairly Held Liable for Broken Window Complaint: I am a tenant at Joshua 11C. On 2 October 2025, I returned from work to find that one of my windows was broken. The unit was securely locked while I was away, and I do not know how the damage occurred. I immediately reported the matter to the building manager (Abel). However, I was told that according to head office, the repair costs would be my responsibility as the tenant. This is despite the fact that I was not at home at the time, and therefore could not have caused the damage. I requested a copy of the official policy or directive that justifies this decision, but none has been provided. I believe it is unfair and unreasonable to be held liable for damages that occurred outside my control. I am requesting that the landlord/head office reconsider this matter, as tenants should not be burdened with costs for damages they did not cause.
