Terrible service

I app**** for an apartment at Jabulani Mews in August 2019, I got rejected because of my salary. The agent advised me that my parent can apply for me then state that I will be living there. My mother app**** and she was accepted.

Months went by and I decided to leave Afcho end of July 2020 because of their lack of competence (they kept sending emails and Sms' that I haven't paid even though I had) as well as feeling unsafe as my building had cracks but was covered up with just paint.

I was willing to forfeit the deposit as staying there was not worth it anymore and I wanted to leave immediately. I looked for the building manager for 7 days so that I could sign the lease termination form and leave!!

When I finally got the form, my mom signed and I left. Beginning of September I got an sms stating that I owe rent. I sent a message to their whatsapp group chat and they said that it has been escalated. I did not receive a response.

A few days ago I got another sms stating that I owe. I sent a whatsapp again and I was sent a statement showing that I'm charged for pro-rated rent and repairs.

Repairs? There was nothing that was broken. I replaced all light switches before I left. My concern is, who signed an inspection form without me? Why was it signed when I was not there as when the lease started, I did not go through inspection?
