Terrible living conditions, uninterested management and no response from their offices.

<p>Atkinson House at corner Albert and Eloff in johannesburg central started off as a great building. Cleaned twice a day with minimal unfavourable conditions. Lately the building is filthy, cleaners manage to go a whole weekend without cleaning, no toilet paper in the bathrooms or hand soap yet tenants are made to pay a cleaning levy. If the cleaners clean they use dirty water that makes the floor smell terrible and there is rarely a difference between the time before they started cleaning and after. The building is only cleaned just before a viewing of groups of people after that it's back to dirty floors and bathrooms. People live there because it is all they can afford. When management is asked to address the issue, they respond by saying they have; yet we see no change. There is broken glass on the stair cases where children could get seriously hurt. The last time we asked why the place hadn't been cleaned, we were told the cleaners were all on lunch, at the same time. They come in in the morning at 08:00 and by lunch time they still have not cleaned? This has gone on for over a year and it is only getting worse.</p>
