Receiving different Information from Building Manager and Afhco

I'm vacating my unit at the end of this month and yes i've been told i will loose my deposit because i didn't tell them on the 1st which i have no problem with but i have one problem which i'm keeping as a record here.

I'm receiving different information from my Building Manager and Afhco customer service. My building manager told me i shouldn't sign anything and that i should just tell him the day i'm vacating so that we do the inspection form. I want to be sure as i'm writing today 22/03/2019 that come month end my account will be closed and i won't be having issues. I've been with Afhco from 2017 at two different Buildings and i've never had issues. Today i feel because i'm moving out i'm treated like i've never been a customer and the Building Manager is rude to me telling me he's incharge and i should listen to him but Customer service is telling me a different story. Unit 203 Impilo.

I'm keeping this as a record here in order to rate my experience when i'm vacating your premise

Dear Rodney,

Thank you for bringing your query to our attention. We, at Afhco value your communication and take pride in attending to and resolving your query as speedily as possible.

After careful consideration and in view of your request to cancel the agreement before the end of the Initial Period (12 months period of the lease-30/04/2019) thus breaching or not complying with the terms and conditions of your lease agreement; we are entitled over and above any rights in law to charge you a reasonable penalty.

If you cancel the Lease agreement with the Landlord before the end of the initial period, you agree that the Landlord will be entitled to charge the Tenant a reasonable penalty.

We are also within our rights to charge a reasonable percentage on the remaining period of the contract (which always works out higher than a deposit) but we do not as we comply and always want to be as even-handed as possible.

Should you need any further assistance or require any additional information, do not hesitate to contact me at *** or telephonically on ***.

 Kind Regards
