NOISE FROM HELL!!!
4 months of living in their property in Midrand (Etude) I’ve been complaining about loud pipes. The agent said they’d send maintenance and 4 months later there’s still nothing. We’ve been paying rent and then they fail to maintain pipes. It’s just pipes for Pete’s sake. JUST CHANGE THE THING AND MOVE ON!!!!

AFHCO is aware of the plumbing pipe whistling noises, this is mainly caused by sediment depositing on the individual unit pressure valve filters. It is a general issue experienced throughout the complex. The noise in some cases might not be coming from your unit and might be caused by neighboring residents’ pipes. Due to the water mainline testing at the neighboring development Sonata, Etude Complex is undergoing water pressure fluctuations that in turn causes the water pipes to release air pressure through pressured leaky pipes, taps and flexi pipes etc. This causes the whistling noises. The AFHCO technical team are made aware of the extensive problem and will endeavor to rectify the complex water pressure issue in entirety to ensure that we do not find the same related problems in future. A plumber will be notified to clean the valve filters to alleviate pressures formed in the unit line pipes. This is only a temporary solution, noise might still flare up again during peak hours. Please exercise patience while AFHCO attends to the problem. As a temporary measure, if you suspect the noise appears from a tap that you are using, try reducing the water flow then closing the tap slower to minimize pressure knocks. If noise appears from the toilet, open the basin tap and close slowly. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
