I don't understand how can one company have so many dishonest people
My name is Mbali Mkhize Im renting unit D403 at Jabulani Lifestyle Estate in Soweto. On Wednesday the 29th of January I tried buying electricity for our rental flat and I couldn't because my metre was blocked and that I should contact my local municipality which obviously mean that I have to contact the company that I'm renting from which I did and I was told that our January rent was not paid. I then contacted my husband who sent me proof of payment for the money paid on the 15th of January but the money was paid into our old rental property. I explained this to Afhco and immediately made payment of R5000 which was about R300 over our normal rental. I called Afhco and sent proof for my services to be reconnected but I was told that I had to pay half of February's rent which I did. So in total I paid R7000.00. I was then asked to confirm the date which the balance will be paid by. I asked Mbalenhle Kekana if I could change my payment date to the 15th of each month as this is when my husband gets his salary. I got acknowledgement from mbali via email that this was noted. Over the weekend on the 9th of January I tried buying electricity and to my surprise my metre was blocked and I couldn't buy electricity again, I immediately sent an email to Afhco's customer care email and to Mbalenhle Kekana as she is the one that agreed to changing my payment date to the 15th, I did not get any response from her on Monday. I then forwarded the same email trail again to customer service and still got no response. I called and spoke to several people who kept saying they were either gonna call me back with feedback or ask Mbali to call me back. I explained to each and every one of these people that I have a newborn baby that needs milk and I'm unable to feed him without electricity and I have a 10 year old that needs hot water to bath for school. I was promised that my services will be reconnected by 4pm and mind you, I have been without electricity from Sunday. At 4:30pm I called Afhco again and requested that they put me through to Mbali's manager because no one was able to track her down since 9am, she was either on break or didn't answer her phone. but she never got back to me, didn't respond to my emails or answered her phone when I called her. I was transferred to Moses who I was told was the manager but he also did not pick up, I then asked for his direct line then called him, I got through and told him about my email correspondence with Mbali and the countless calls to their customer services and he asked if I sent proof that my husband gets paid on the 15th which I told him that no one asked me to send proof, I was just told that Afhco has taken note of my request to change my payment date to the 15th. He said to hold the line while he looked at my profile, I held for like 3 to 5 minutes then the call got dropped, I say the call got dropped because he didn't call me back and when I called his line again, it just rang till it went to voicemail. I need someone to reconnect my services and someone who is not going to lie about when they will be connected and someone who is not gonna try to worm their way out and try to make excuses cause I'm not even angry anymore, I'm just defeated.
