********** billing after cancellation of lease‼️
Be warned !!!against Afhco property lifestyle estate, I was their tenant from 2021 April and, cancelled my lease November 22, When I cancelled my lease in November, I did mention that, it was due to unemployment as I had been communicating with the credit controller by the name of Zodwa ,it was evident that I was struggling to pay my rent at some point they locked me outside although at not no point I skipped the rent payment yet I was treated like trash. I decided to cancel the lease directly with the building management, also, giving my notice by documentation. On the day of moving out from the unit, I made sure I clean and mop the floors, making sure the unit was in good condition, surprisingly when I went to take out my first load from the unit, the security gave me a paper document that required me to state the items I was packing out, which did as per instructions of the building and lease. The building manager was there however, he didn’t even bother to do an inspection on the unit while I was there. Within the premises I had 3 loads and, he was watching me with his fellow workers. On my last load, I handed out the document and asked if anything else was needed to be done he said no, on the document it was stated that I was going to receive my deposit back within 7 days so I assumed everything would be done accordingly.
However, by December the seven days had already passed and I got no communication from them in regards to my deposit. I started writing to the credit controller and the customer service as I understand that, my deposit accumulated to 4something, so I knew I wouldn’t get it in full as I gave out a short notice on my cancellation, the was no communication at all through out December.
Only mid January to my surprise I received a bill from the credit controller lady by zodwa stating I have an outstanding bill with them that accumulated to R8000 something and I needed to pay! The bill was ********** as it was insisting that I had damaged the unit with a list of things that I had no knowledge of,I left the unit in good condition and that was the reason I insisted on getting my deposit back and they even managed to put another tenant by January in the same unit and my neighbour notified me as she still rents with them.
At first I thought Afhco was taking their chances and ignored their email as it didn’t make sense to me. To my surprise I recently received an email stating I am being handed over to collections and I sent an email to the credit controller telling her to send me proof of pictures or documentation of inspection where i signed as confirmation of damages that were in the unit while I was there.
I feel harassed by Afhco because through out the years I’ve been paying them properly so, it surprises me as to why would they want me to pay for ********** damages now I’m receiving letter of demand from their collectors it’s not even up to 3 months
BE WARNED ‼️‼️they are ****** building managers work hand in hand with credit controller
