Bad Customer Service

I moved out of the apartment end of February and since then, I have not received my deposit. I have spoken to two male customer service agents in March and they advised that AFHCO conducts payments on Tuesday and Thursday so 7-14 business days from the date I moved out of which - no deposit has been processed. When we went into lock down, I spoke to Thando and she advised that they are unable to make payments due to lock down and will get back to me - I have not received any follow up since then. I was advised that my deposit is delayed due to cancelling the first moving out application then advised that the estate manager hasn't processed the post inspection now I have been advised that I will not get my deposit due to not giving 30 days notice which I did provide. It is now 15 May, I have not received my deposit and no one from AFHCO had the courtesy to contact me and advise. Please may we resolve this matter immediately - I will like to have my deposit back please

Dear Zinzile

Thank you for bringing your query to our attention. We, at Afhco Property Management value your communication and take pride in attending to and resolving your query as speedily as possible.

After careful consideration and in view of your request to cancel the lease agreement without serving the required 1 month notice thus breaching and or not complying with the terms and conditions of your lease agreement; a penalty fee  was charged as you only gave notice on the 26th of February 2020 for end of February 2020.

The Tenant may cancel this agreement by serving notice of at least 20 business days before they want the Lease to end.

For ease of reference your signed notice to cancel lease agreement form was e-mailed to your e-mail address provided.

Should you need any further assistance or require any additional information, do not hesitate to contact us at

Dear AFHCO

Thank you for your email.

I am not in breach of lease and even the agents I have spoken to advised so - I first gave notice for end of January then under the customer service agents guidance to cancel that application and apply again for end of February- I have the emails to confirm this. I have given multiple notice and even received a phone to confirm that I cancelled my lease for end of Feb under your guidance.

I am very disappointed in the customer service AFHCO has provided so far - from providing me misinformation, not releasing my deposit in time. I was even advised that the reason behind the delay in process was due to the moving out application being changed twice or estate manager not handing in the inspection forms- I had to call him and begged him to send it through so that my process will be completed

None of your agents had the decency to provide proper customer expectations nor advise me on this development - had I not call customer service, would you have advised me of this matter and take my money?.

I will take this matter to OMBUDS, SAPS and report this to relevant parties because this is ****************.

I look forward to your response.

Kind Regards

Zinzi
