AFHCO Locks Out Tenant And Then Ignores Tenant

I am appalled by the way AFHCO has behaved the last couple of weeks.

I have fallen behind the last couple of months on my rent due to some tough events and came home on Wednesday the 12th of February to find that the locks on my door had been changed. I phoned the call centre and they advised that this was due to non-payment of the rent. They tried to transfer me to the creditors department, where the phone rang for 10 minutes, with no answer. I phoned the call centre again and a different agent advised that the only thing he could help me with, was to send off an email to the creditors department to phone me back.

The next day I phoned again, and was again transferred to the creditors department where the phone just rang, with no answer. This was the case every time I phoned and phoned. In the meantime, I had sent two emails to Mbalenhle Kekana, who works in the creditors department at AFHCO, and have to date received not one reply. I have not received one call back or email, on any of my numerous requests logged with the call centre agents.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. None of your deadlines of a response within 48 hours were ever received as it in now two weeks later!

On top of all of that, it is AGAINST THE LAW TO LOCK A TENANT OUT OF THE PROPERTY, EVEN IF THEY ARE BEHIND ON RENT. If a Landlord wants to evict a tenant, the landlord needs a court order.

I would love to be able to make a payment arrangement and stay on in the apartment. But how am I supposed to do that if NO ONE EVER gets back to me?
