AFCHO TRIPPING AGAIN
We recently moved units to save on rent. Their Head Office assisted us for which I am very grateful. However gratitude runs out when you have to keep asking for things to be done. The day we moved in there was no lock and handle on the door, no water plus other stuff. Got it sorted. Then discovered stove tripped. Handyman fiddled said he would come back. Initially it was one plate, now you can’t turn it on at all. Complex manager said last night would send handyman. It is now 13.16 and no handyman. Complex manager has his phone off which is not unusual. Last night we used the last of our Braai stuff. So now we have no means to cook and our budget does not allow for takeaway. Yes we can eat bread but why should we when we have the raw ingredients for a meal. Northgate Heights needs a decent complex manager who spends time at the complex and does stuff. The lease was wrong. The other unit was more expensive and they transferred our deposit. I queried the amount and asked where the remainder was. I got a rude email telling me that there was nothing missing, it is on the lease. Just one problem - there was R1800 missing. They have acknowledged it but we don’t have it back. The lease says we get free WiFi. Actually we don’t. We also have no restaurant, the clubhouse is an empty room with 2 tables and 10 chairs, the gym is closed and has been since lockdown. I did the snag list myself with no input from the complex manager, we never did a joint snag list for the other unit but that is ok because they never attended to the moving in list done jointly with the agent. In that unit the passage light exploded in the rain so we lived without it despite reporting it immediately. The corner units have very high ceilings. Bathroom bulb blew. Couldn’t reach so bathed in the dark for two years. We had been assured that a Crew would check every six weeks and wash windows etc as specialist equipment was needed. Never happened. We are waiting on an arrears agreement only the person doing that won’t do it until we are up to date. Weird. They like to interfere with your prepaid power if you upset them. Two years ago a payment of R320 was made to Protea Metering. AFCHO told them to send the money to AFCHO and cut power. Naturally they do it on a Friday night. Took a weekend to sort out and we have never seen the money given to AFCHO by Protea Metering. There is also the concern that AFCHO can interfere with a 3rd party payment and that it is ******* to cut off power and water. You just get a blank stare and a shrug. Complex manager can do nothing. So we wait
