Total ripp off!!!

We've been using ADT since 2002. Global Fidelity company all that ooh aaah. That is how 2 bright youngsters caught us in 2002 to sell what was initially so simple. Then it grew and grew and grew. Now we realise it's been a total *******, Paying over all these years for a rented alarm system?.! We never asked for that. Our understanding from the sales pitch was that system will be paid for in 24 months. Now, monthly paypent are in excess of R600 p.m. All ADT can say is that this is what you procured. The alarm itself is trivial; cost to buy brand new 8 zone alarm now is about R1500 excl installation. Competitive costs p.m. in our area is around R350. Yet all these years ADT has been ripping us off; total rental now over these years runs into many thousands of rands. Am planning to proceed to report ADT to the authorotiez for these malicious business practices. I'm also cancelling my contract and will lock them out of my house should they wish to remove property that I now deem to bensure mine, that I have paid for many times, over and over. ADT never bothered to keep the system up to date. Zip zero maintenance over all those years. It's still based on Hellkom telephone link that is right now prevention the reliable function of this system. Of course ADT will just lay back and say that is what you signed for. These guys (and ladies) should be locked up for how they run their business. I'm personally looking at legal options to get Fidelity/ADT to face the music, unless ADT can come with some innovative way to pay me back for the years of them ripping me off!

ADT contacted me today... step in right direction, eh? Pity it only happens when you start publishing it here on HelloPeter. They came up with an offer to change contract and I can just pay R350 from here on. Whether that means AN 24 month commitment I do not know cause ADT keep cards up their sleeves very tight.
Problem is I am sitting with this antiquited Alaram equipment (15 YEARS!) that they have not updated nor maintained ever during last 15 years, while I was renting it from at an exorbitant cost.In IT world we write the stuff OFF after 3-5 years. So I have sent them terms under which I would be willing to look at their offer... We'll see what they come back with, I'm thinking there's probably some curved ball involved here.
Pity one has to go to these time wasting steps with a company that is viewed globally as a Leader. A Leader is ahead of the pack. It does not use dubious ways of retaining customers. It fulfils it side of the bargain in a fair, transparent and sustainable manner.
Can one say that of ADT?

Yes I think I got a call from someone at ADT today, she left a message that I am still trying to decypher due to noise. No follow up call, no offer to visit, or to resolve the issue ASAP. In the good old days, and even today, anyone of the competition would have knocked on my door to check what is going on.
No, ADT is world #1... no personal service... just a lady on the phone
Please note ADT customers, when it comes to reporting stuff, then ADT do not have emails. Only phones to call. And with ADT that has been a major problem, cause what they say and what I say is then only on THEIR voice recorded system.
So ADT do not publish ANY Email addresses to the company, cause they hate it to have this kind of evidence as per the Electronic Communications Act of SA (2005). They prefer to have you wait on a line for as long as it takes and then you get put through to this clueless operator.
All the major competitors of ADT here in my region has been giving me direct numbers to the people involved.
Well, it is month end and ALL of this on Hello Peter, is actually helping me nothing since ADT is already deducting their D/O. Just continuening on their devious ways of how to run a multi billion $$$ business while we as customers just have to stick around.
Is ADT #1... hmmm well I think they are not just 1, or 2 out of 5
They are -5 below the scale of customer satisfaction!
