Threatening to confiscate equipment & high premium
After cancelling with ADT, they offered me a premium equal to what I paid 11 years ago!
On inception in 2004, I was led to believe the high premium was because 3 separate buildings were being monitored! However, I have only one radio!
Further, ADT repeatedly alleged that the equipment was their property, despite my wife informing the agent that we paid for it.
Had I not kept records, ADT would have removed equipment that I own! That is very alarming for a company that is supposed to protect it clients
I received a final email after I sent proof of payment, whereby ADT acknowledged that the equipment indeed is our property. However, my questions have not been answered:
1. Did I pay this high premium for a rented system (as per their records) - a whopping R570 in 2015?
2. Please explain how 11 years later ADT can offer me a premium of R265 when I cancel my contract?
3. Why did your agent continue threatening to remove the system despite my wife informing her that we paid for the equipment?
4. What would have happened had I not kept record of payment for the equipment?
Sad that a long standing customer can be treated in this dismal manner because of poor record keeping.
