Taking money from pensioners after they moved out from their home, months after cancellation during a pandemic.
Mr. Kruger phoned to cancel his services with ADT in October 2020. The gentleman on the phone informed him that there needs to be a notice period, and they can not cancel his services end of November, but only from the end of December. Fair.
End of December they debited his account for January. He was lenient and thought maybe it was a misunderstanding. End of January they debited his account for February.
We phoned asking why this was happening only to be notified that it is protocol to complete the "moving notification" form, and that they will not be paying back his money, as this form was never completed (He was not notified about this form when the gentleman on the phone told him it would be cancelled end of December) - We completed the form today, only to realise it's basically just a flyer asking for your new address, and the contact details for the new owner of your old home so they can retain customers. Yet they continued to debit his account because this "customer retention" form was never completed. They continued to debit his account, even though the radio has been removed from the premises end of December, making it physically impossible for ADT to monitor the property.
Extremely disappointed and disgusted by these shady tactics.
