Poor Service from ADT

Good day to you

I trust that you are well. We recently moved from Pietermaritzburg to Pretoria, Akasia and of course the first thing to sort out at our new home will be the security system. Since we were with ADT in Pietermaritzburg we contacted them first. Okay so at our new home there is an old ADT System and the Sales Consultant says it is not working and we will have to put in a new System which will cost around R6000.

We don’t mind because our safety will be first priority so we give him the go ahead, A few days later two technicians arrive and they start to put in the new system, they weren’t very professional and when they finished they didn’t even show us how the system works, neither did they once test it while they were here and I remember when ever they install a system they should test it and show you how it works etc. The other issue I had was that they used all the old parts from the old system. The Sales Consultant told me now on the Phone that we didn’t agree on a whole new complete system only the Panel and three eyes and that they will fix the rest...? So okay fine but that isn’t the big problem now, I found out last week with a huge shock that half of the system isn’t working... I have four door magnets that isn’t working and one of those doors is in the main bedroom that goes straight outside, and I would think that this is the most important part of the house, should be the safest in the whole house right?, the other main huge biggest problem is that we have a panic button in the kitchen that doesn’t work at all, I mean this is ridiculous if someone brake into the house while I am inside and I press the panic button its not going to help, people will say shame that poor man was ******ed in the privacy of his own home, no one will even know that it was a faulty ADT System.

At work my colleague told me that they were with ADT and since they signed with them their house got broken into; a few times; and that they went away over a weekend and got broken into and when they tried to claim for insurance the insurance company told them it is fine they just need a letter form ADT that says the alarm went off etc. ADT told them that apparently the alarm was never activated? (maybe...maybe not), the stories just keeps getting worse, today on the internet via HelloPeter.com I have read many scary stories about how apparently ADT does this on purpose and then later tell their ******** friends where to go and brake in?

So to top this lovely story of last week I phoned ADT to tell them about the problem and the Lady I spoke to “ Luckily I record the phone call like I do every phone call with an app” So she said she will address the matter asap and CC me in the email she will apparently send, this was last week, now in next week already still nothing, and believe me I did check my SPAM Folder, so I searched my home to try and find the Sales Consultant business card which I did and then phoned him today to tell him about everything, he says he will send technicians tomorrow to come and have a look.

My question now is do I really want to be with ADT? We just signed a two year contract for a system that doesn’t work and it took 12min for the armed response guy to arrive here which I just also wanted to test today?

Regards

Andre Du Toit
