Over pricing

I phoned ADT today to do a test on the alarm. The alarm at my home goes off but the lady confirmed my suspicion that ADT does not receive the signal. That means that their equipment we use is faulty. They told me the call out fee for a technician is R530. Why is it so high just to come and check whats wrong with the equipment, -its ridiculous,- it sounds that they want to make money rather than deliver good service.. Why should we pay so much if it seems their equipment is faulty.
