MONEY GRABBERS

My mom took a home security service with ADT/Fidelity in 2018 for which I was responsible for payment. Nothing was communicated to her regarding annual increases and the double payments in the month of December. I continued paying without complaining. Come 2022, I tried to call ADT to change my debit order date. The phone rings unanswered. I went out on a limb and emailed ADT and one of their consultants contacted me and apologised for and assured me I would get my query resolved and over and above that, I would get a copy of the terms and conditions emailed to me. He also informed me that should I want to cancel the service, as that was also part of my email query, I would need to give ADT a 30 day notice. Fast forward to 2023 and none of the information requested, particularly the terms and conditions, were sent through. I email ADT once more and this time inform them explicitly to stop the service. This was on the 4th of January. No contact from ADT was made until today, 4th February. I then informed them of my intention to go ahead with the cancellation order given 4th January. I was then told I’d still get charged in February because I needed to give A CLEAR CALENDER MONTH’s notice. How is this not a shake down?? Had I been given the information I requested, i.e the terms and conditions, I would have known this. I’m genuinely ****ed that I’m being punished for something I was unaware of even AFTER I had requested the information from ADT and did not receive it.

If ADT intends on calling me to “clarify”, I’d advise against that. The only call I’m willing to accept is one where I’m told I will not be paying for a service I cancelled according to information I was given by their consultant.
