Dont trust what ADT sells you!
I bought my ADT system that was installed in my home. I made it clear that i want the option to only link to the control room when i was away from home. I was told i could do this. I then started getting accounts for month linkup. After many calls and many e-mails and lots of frustration i had to pay a buy out to stop the monthly costs, So i paid it. 2 years down the line i call ADT to ask if i can have a quote to put 2 beams in my yard. I was told that i have to sign into a contract to do this. I then got another security company to install beams and link to my current alarm system, and was told that they cannot add as they need an installer code and i should get this from ADT. So i called ADT, first to be told my account was suspended, which is incorrect as i cancelled it and paid a cancellation fee. 2ndly I MUST PAY R692.00 for a technician to come out and give the code to me. If i dont pay for their technician to come out then my system is actually obsolete. These are the things they dont tell you when you pay cash for systems. Pity when a company has to black mail its clients to get business, instead of being up front with them.
