DO NOT SIGN WITH ADT!

ADT’s sales rep came to my offices as I was wanting to install camera’s. The rep then advised me that the rate to change my home security over to them would be R275 a month.

The sales rep then emailed me the forms to complete. I advised him to meet me at my home first, to walk through the property to make sure that there were no surprises or extra hidden costs.

He went into the main house and both flats, and then sat in the lounge with me to complete the forms. I was assured that the cost would be only be R275, but I would need to pay an extra radio fee once a year for the front flat.

2 weeks later, I am advised that the flat will require a separate contract of R275 a month – which is not what I signed up for – when I advised that I want to cancel and stay with City Wide – told I had signed a contract which does not state that I must pay for an extra premises, and then try to get me to sign another contract – but too me the contract was broken by ADT first through misrepresentation.
