Dangerous and Intimidating driving by ADT security Personnel

I am writing to formally report a deeply distressing and dangerous incident involving one of your security vehicles that occurred this morning, June 27th, at approximately 06:44am. While driving along the Waterfall Cemetery shortcut, driving through waterfall city, Midrand- passing residential complexes including Munyaka- I was in one of the two available lanes, with the other lane completely open. Despite this, your security vehicle, which was behind me, aggressively insisted I move from my lane. When I didn’t, the driver proceeded to flash their high beams at me in an intimidating manner, which was both blinding and extremely unsettling.

The situation escalated at the first traffic light on Maxwell D Drive leading to woodmead street. Your vehicle overtook me and positioned itself directly in front of my car. While we were stopped at the red light, the driver exited the vehicle and made an obscene gesture-showing me the middle finger. I was unable to change lanes due to traffic and was forced to witness this inappropriate and threatening behaviour.

As a woman driving alone in a small car, I feel targeted and deeply unsafe. This experience has left me shaken and traumatised.

Please see the attached photo of the vehicle which I managed to take during the incident. I would like this matter resolved one way or another. I am not happy and I am beyond traumatised by this experience.

I also called the number displayed on the vehicle- ***and was transferred five times with no one willing to assist me or provide an email address to report this matter. Unfortunately I couldn’t see the driver’s faces he was wearing a face mask pulled up from his neck but I could see that he was a black man. In a country where women are reported killed or ****d everyday by men, will driving now also be a platform where men from security companies feel entitled to pick on women and scare them on the roads too?

It’s almost ironic-if not tragic- that this happened at the hands of someone representing a security company. Instead of feeling protected, I was left feeling threatened and vulnerable.Unfortunately I couldn’t see the driver’s faces he was wearing a face mask pulled up from his neck but I could see that he was a black man. In a country where women are reported killed or ****d everyday by men, will driving now also be a platform where men from security companies feel entitled to pick on women and scare them on the roads too?
