can't get them to delete my phone number from their database

It is almost 2 years ago that I have moved out of that house, even to another province. And still they phone me, send me SMSs and e-mails - not only when there is an alarm, but about an appointment for a technician, info on a new tarif model, that battery is low and what have you.

What exactly in "please change that number, I am no longer living there; here is the new contact number; so remove the old one from your database, please" do they not understand? That beats me...

I simply refuse to belive that they are complete and utter idiots incapable of the simplest task, it just cannot be; so all I can assume it that they are either deliberatly trying to anoy me or that their system is such **** that the deleted cell number pops up again after a while?

After so many attempts (by, phone, SMS, e-mail) of convincing them that it is useless to phone me (because I havn't got anything to do with the house or with the contract any more), they simply refuse to do anything about this. Sounds unbelieavable? Well remember, it is a South African company, so what do we expect?

And the worst is, my previous employer (who is the owner of the house) would actually WANT to get all this information from ADT which I am blocking, ignoring or deleting. If this company were any good, would it not be in their own interest to keep communication to customers steady by updating their systems? Why can't they show at least a minimum of cooperation?

As I said, beats me. But then I don't need to understand EVERYTING.

All I know is: ADT? Never again!
