ADT Very Poor Service

Hi There,

I am Mr Govender resident of Weltevreden Park. in this day and ag, we are accustomed to having a security company provide a guarding service for your residence in the event off burglary. I have appointed ADT Security services. I have entered into a 24 Month agreement with ADT. Started arr Aug 2019. When our contract was sign my dog was in the yard.

Since inception of the agreement I think ADT has entered my property once. When my alarm goes off I get a call from the control room. I ask them to send a guard out to check. Several minutes later I get a call back saying the guards will NOT enter my property due to the Dog. They are scared of the dog. this happened on several occasions. I even went to the extent off requesting a Night Manager meet me at my property with the guards in my area to them used to the dog. Even after that was done control will call me back with the same story guards will NOT enter due to the dog.

This even happen once with load shedding it trigger alarm when Electricity is restored. I was on the property and the guard comes to the gate while im on the call with control room. Say to me that he will NOT enter because of the Dog. He is scared. Even after they have come with a night Manager to get used to the dog. So I case of an emergency, they can now enter the property.

14 Jun app 04h00 in the morning was away and the alarm triggered DT control call and I explain I am not on the property please send a guard urgently. 10 Minutes later I get a call form control room explaining the guard will NOT enter because of the Dog. after the control room notified me that ADT guards will NOT enter my Property. I had to call an alternative Security company to check on my property. Which the Alternate company reacted to with no hesitation. Entered my property did a full check around and thereafter notified me of outcome.

After this I thought I had enough. being a paying consumer to receive as service that bad form ADT. If there was a real emergency, what was I going to do with my family in Danger and ADT is appointed to be my guarding company but they will NOT enter my property.

after namouras complaints to ADT to rectify the problem. Which they have not. I have decided to terminate my agreement as ADT is not providing me with the services set out in the Agreement. I have given the one month notice set out in the contract and the period has now passed.

ADT has now sent me demand letters for settlement of the remainder of the agreement. I have refused to acknowledge the settlement letter as my argument is. Am I the consumer in Breach of the Agreement or The service Provider in this case In Breach. They have failed to respond to me regarding this. Furthermore the alarm system was installed by another security company and NOT ADT and Paid for by the owner of the Property.

I would like to warn fellow citizens out there when it comes to you and your families security think twice when ADT approaches you or if you are currently with ADT. are you being provided with the full service.
