ADT *****s R1900 from elderly pensioner (with state pension of R1500) and makes ********* sale

My very elderly mother lives alone in Port Elizabeth. I requested a rate adjustment to her contract with ADT as she is a pensioner. ADT sent out a consultant to my Mothers who forced her to sign a contract that she didnt understand (My mother is a vulnerable adult who lacks capacity). Not only did the consultant complete the form on my Mother's behalf, she also stated that my mother was the new owner, this despite the fact that she had lived in the same house for 35 years. Whilst this very "keen" individual was completing the form she did not transfer all the details across as it should be. Instead she added very outdated bank details to the form and left out my email address to receive bank statements. As the account they were attempted to take their debit orders from was dormant, the account went into arrears and ADT did not contact me via email like they had previoulsy done.

When I queried this with ADT they provided me with little response. When I asked for the matter to be escalated in March 2016, I was told that it would be, but when I chased this up, I was ignored. In May 2016, R1900 was *******ly debited from my Mothers account despite the monthly debit order being for an amount of R250. How exactly do they expect my Mother to survive who receives a government pension of R1500.

When I emailed the MD and the Port Elizabeth Branch Manager, I was told that I would receive a response by close of play on 1/6/2016. It is now 8pm on 1/6/2016 and I am yet to receive a response.

I am shocked and disgusted at this service, lack of care or consideration and blatant disregard for any ethical manner of conducting business. I will be escalating this matter to the highest level possible.
